The Idea

One of the unique selling points of Speak Up London is their location on Oxford Street. Being in the centre of London, it's the perfect place to take learning outside of the classroom and apply any English skills developed in the real world. We wanted to showcase how our teachers take this idea and apply it to their classes.

The Execution

A single camera set up with multiple takes for the interview, a clip on mic to allow seamless editing and then guerilla recording in public spaces and in the classroom to help illustrate the subject matter.

Learnings

Not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera, some even more rigid than the next. I learnt that reassuring whoever I'm interviewing and filming is key to producing content that can show off personality as well as information. I also found as time went on each person became more comfortable in front of the camera so multiple takes benefitted from better and more fluid dialogue.
